Topic : Arrangement marriage should be eliminate in Cambodia
society.
Arrangement
marriage is a custom of Khmer families life in the past until now. Because most
of Khmer people are Buddhism they believe that parent should have duty to
choose a partner to their children. Moreover, for children also have duty to
respect back to the parent decision. We can see that some couple life are live
in happiness and some of them are force with love problem. For bring a true love
and human right arrangement marriage should be eliminate in Cambodia society in
several reasons.
Arrangement
marriage have been common practice in Khmer society. Parent choose the a man or
woman who come from a good families, knowledge for their children. In addition,
arrangement marriage is kind of choosing a good partner life that parent and
all relatives are liked and they think that they have response for their
children. It seen kind of form a good families
life.
Arrangement
marriage sometime can bring painful in love life. It is bring painful in some
reason such as forcing by parent, dislike partner, and they have their own
love. For example, some people agree with parent to married because they think
sometime living together will make love later. In contrast, it just keep pain
and get divorce later. Furthermore, for people who have their own love will
bring more suffering and regret to hold life.
Beside bring
painful to love life, it can have inattention baby. Although it kind of
arrangement ; sex without love also can happen. For having baby without love
from parent; baby face with carless and lack of happiness. For instance, both
of mother and father just think one of them will care of baby. In fact non of
them take care baby. In addition, if the parent is divorced, baby will suffer
and mother and father will feel guilty to born the baby.
Other point
arrangement marriage effect to human right. Due to universal human rights
declaration love marriage at article sixteen right to marriage and families
said at second point that “ Nobody
should force you to marry “. According to the human right parent either
somebody should not force man or woman to married with unlike person. It is
against the law.
Stand on the
custom some people believe that children should respect the parent arrangement
because it is what ancestor do. If we look from the past life, more Khmer
families follow this theory. Moreover, they think that the older look not wrong
because stand on their experience and look for background of man or woman families.
However, it should not practice more in Khmer society now a day because
Cambodia have been accept the human right as the law and man or woman should
have more dependent to choose either respond for what they love. In addition,
married without love it hard to bring happiness to love life and families.
In
conclusion, arrangement should be eliminate in Cambodia society. As we know
that it just can bring suffering, inattention children, and against the law.
For bring the happy life without regret parent should be consider about their children.
