war means loss

by - December 17, 2025

This is the second war between Cambodia and Thailand in 2025. This time, it is longer and stronger than the first conflict in July. According to reporters, seven provinces were attacked. Temples, infrastructure, and houses were destroyed by bombs. About half a million people have had to flee to safe areas, and civilians and soldiers have lost their lives.

Camboida is a small country with a small economy, which just ended its civil war in 1979.
All Cambodian people know the feeling of loss. We call on the United Nations, the ASEAN community, and other countries all around the world, please don't ignore humanity.

War is never just about victory; at its core, war means loss.
Loss of lives that never had a choice.
Loss of homes built over generations.
Loss of temples, history, and culture that cannot be rebuilt the same way again. Loss of peace both on the land and in the human heart.
Even when one side claims to win, the truth remains unchanged: everyone loses something. Families are separated overnight. Children learn the sound of explosions before they learn the meaning of safety.

Peace is valuable; without peace, we feel insecure, both physically and mentally
Without peace, life is no dream, no hope. Cambodia needs Peace.
