The song "August 1st " by the famous Cambodian rapper " Vanda ".

The song describes the war border between Cambodia and Thailand that started on 24th July 2025. An unconditional ceasefire was agreed upon on July 28th, after negotiations facilitated by Malaysia. 

However, Thai soldiers captured 20 Cambodian soldiers after a ceasefire was in effect. Initially, reports indicated that one soldier was killed in the clash, and 19 were taken into Thai custody, with one managing to escape.

By August 1, Thai forces had returned two wounded soldiers to Cambodia, with Cambodia pushing for the return of the remaining 18. One suffering from a physical injury requiring a wheelchair, and another appearing to have battle fatigue or a psychiatric condition.

All Cambodian people, including me, find this song so painful. We pray other 18 soldiers can return home in good health.
